Beautiful Boho Porch on a Budget
While looking at a house with my realtor, this porch caught my attention, I saw so much potential! I started day dreaming about a cozy hammock for naps and reading, a patio set to enjoy coffee in the morning and a cute table for dining with friends. The porch was definitely the selling point for me, I made an offer the same day.
The house was small (1,050 sq. ft.) and cost way more to renovate than I planned for. When it was time to furnish the patio, I’d gone over budget on unexpected boring (but necessary) expenses like a water heater, new plumbing, and attic insulation.
I started shopping and was able to furnish the patio for under 1K!
Here are some of the tips I use to be thrifty…
Buying patio the furniture after summer. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but I saved a ton! I did this again with a tall Christmas tree and purchased it the day after Christmas for half price!
I found a couple of sets that I really liked and then did a Google image search. There’s usually another seller that carries the same product under a different name. Sometimes they change up pictures, so you have to compare the measurements, materials, etc. to make sure they are apples to apples.
In the past I have waited for Prime Day / Way Day to purchase items I have saved. This takes patience, I’m currently (trying) to wait another week to see if get a good deal on a vacuum during Prime Day.
Buy on Facebook Marketplace. This one also takes patience as you are competing with other buyers, but I’ve scored some great stuff for a good price!
